This Thursday will be a big day not only for the prospects working out but for the UND football program itself. For the longest time, any prospects that UND had would have to travel to Fargo or Minneapolis to workout at a Pro Day. This year they host their own.
Matt Waletzko is the biggest name of the group but UND will also have several 2021 standouts working out in Evan Holm, Jordan Canady, Jaxson Turner, and Hayden Galvin.
Starting at 2pm on Thursday the UND athletes along with a couple other local standouts will workout for approximately 17 NFL teams at the Pollard Center. This event is open to the public. Weight room testing will be first followed by on-field drills immediately afterwards.
To get 17 teams to Grand Forks during this hectic post-combine frenzy is very impressive.
To get an idea of how Waletzko has progressed throughout his time in the UND program, here is a picture of him when he committed to Bubba Schweigert after a summer camp back in 2017. He lost weight, added muscle mass and most importantly added speed / lateral agility to a body that was ready to be transformed. Big credit to Waletzko and also to the UND strength and conditioning staff.

Former UND CB Evan Holm recently worked out at the University of Minnesota Pro Day and by several accounts did quite well. Holm notched two impressive times in the ’40’ registering a 4.50 and 4.53. He also had a 10′-1″ broad jump to go along with a 33″ vertical. Holm will undoubtedly benefit from working out in front of scouts as much as possible. Some guys test well and some don’t – Holm does.
UND has six practices left in spring ball culminating with the Spring Wrap-Up on April 2nd.
QB Quincy Vaughn has not practiced due to illness so backup freshman Simon Romfo and Trey Feeney have gotten alot of reps, which is a good thing and what spring practice is for.
The Hawks have only had nine OL available thus far due to multiple injuries sustained last fall. Transfer guard Bradyen Bryant is said to be returning soon, however.
Freshman WR Nathan Demontagnac has popped up alot as a guy making moves this spring. The Canadian speedster could be a nice downfield threat for the Hawks next fall. He has shown big-play ability.
