Bismarck Century QB recruit Carson Wentz’s recruitment has hit fever pitch recently and he has made official visits to UND and SDSU the last two weekends. In a surprising development, our sources in Bismarck say he has come out and told Dale Lennon and SIU that he will not be making an official visit to Carbondale, which eliminates them as an option.
NDSU has come on late and is now in the picture and is recruiting Wentz as well. Our sources indicate that they have recently offered Wentz a scholarship. Last year, NDSU signed another Bismarck QB in Esley Thorton. That may or may not have an impact in Wentz’s decision.
The wild card in all of this is still Central Michigan, who is probably waiting to see who says no to them before eventually going hard after Wentz. Most FBS schools have offers out to their top kids by this time and Wentz does not currently hold an offer from them.

UND is being mentioned as being on the radar of some pretty outstanding recruits, some of whom committed already. Good to see that stable conference home already beginning to pay off.
