As has been chronicled over the last few months, Detroit Lakes QB Joe Mollberg is the kingpin local recruit for the class of 2012. He is being recruited heavily by the local FCS schools in the upper midwest. All indications are that the final 3 schools in the mix are UND, NDSU and SDSU, with Iowa being the ultimate winner of his services if they decide to offer him. We do not see Minnesota being in the mix due to the commitment of Mankato West QB Philip Nelson earlier this year. All 3 FCS schools have offered full-ride scholarships.
Our DL double-secret sources are telling us that a verbal commitment from the Mollberg camp could happen within the next week or two. With who is the big question. We do know that he was up at UND shortly before fall camp began for an “unofficial” visit so that is out of the way.
Here is some spring workout footage we came across of Mollberg throwing to receivers.
Any “insiders” out there who have any thoughts on where he’s headed? Where do the rest of you think he ends up at?
