The UND Football program has received a commitment from LB Jared Tuilagi (#4) of Henderson, NV.  Tuilagi, 6’2″-220, was a standout LB/TE for Coach Rich Muraco’s Patriots, which finished the season 11-2.   They lost in the state semifinals to powerhouse Bishop Gorman.

Tuilagi was an all-conference performer for the Patriots in his senior season and led his team in solo tackles and total tackles.  He also scored 4 TDs on offense from his TE position. He has pretty good speed on film and is definitely a play-maker on the defensive side of the ball.  With his aggressive style we can see him being an outside linebacker in UND’s 3-4 scheme.  Tuilagi also had offers from San Diego and Texas Southern.

Tuilagi is the 1st verbal commitment from the state of Nevada that we can ever recall joining the UND Football roster, and the 18th known scholarship commitment for the 2012 recruiting class that has a wealth of linebacker depth – a “must have” in the 3-4 defense.
