The first unofficial FCS preseason poll has come out for the 2012   season.  AnyGivenSaturday, a website/forum devoted to FCS football, came out with their poll recently and the North Dakota Fighting Sioux were ranked 34th.   With the forum members being the voters it is somewhat subjective but seems to be fairly accurate.   We would probably have UND somewhere in the 22-28 range but what do we know.  Here is the link to the poll.

In case you are interested in the conference shakeups around the country and how they may affect the Big Sky conference, there was recently a solid 3-piece interview by Colter Nuanez of the Bozeman Daily Chronicle where he spoke with Big Sky Commissioner Doug Fullerton.  You can find the three interviews here:

The Sioux have been extremely active on the recruiting trail this spring.   They have virtually attacked the Twin Cities/Wisconsin/Illinois areas.  They also have multiple offers out in Arizona, South Dakota, and Iowa.  We have also noticed some recruiting buzz concerning UND out in the Pacific Northwest (Oregon and Washington).  The offers are definitely plentiful with us counting around 50-60 total.   I would say that 15 of those are sure fire FBS players meaning they have around 45 offers out to FBS/FCS level players.   The normal signing class is 20-25.  There is a Wiki page on Siouxsports.com that has compiled the offers that UND has made to date, according to various media outlets.

The Grand Forks Herald wrote a couple articles recently on UND’s transition now that it is close to being officially over.   They can be found here:

As we said earlier in a comment, we have been fairly active on our Twitter account and will continue to be during the summer months.
