UND Football recently held their annual spring strength testing. They usually hold it before spring ball begins and winter workout are over but with access to the HPC now an option they decided to get spring ball going early.
This led to UND actually testing after spring ball was over. Not common, but by all accounts we were told it went well and they now have a baseline to work off of if they do it again next year.
Here are some results we came across (not complete but does contain top performers):
40 Yard Dash (using laser system at start & finish–subtract 0.20 to equate to handheld times)
- Garrett Bollant – 4.57
- John Santiago – 4.59
- Cole Reyes – 4.61
- Dijon Murray – 4.64
- Deion Harris – 4.67
- Jake Disterhaupt
- Tanner Palmborg
- Austin Gordon
- Jade Lawrence
- Donnell Rodgers
Vertical Jump
- Jake Disterhaupt – 37.0 (inches)
- Alex Reed – 37.0
- Austin Gordon – 36.0
- Deion Harris – 35.5
Pro Test
- Torrey Hunt – 4.00
- Oscar Neverman – 4.10
- Deion Harris – 4.14
Standing Long Jump
- Jawon Johnson – 124.5 (inches)
- Tim Dulin – 122
Some takeaways from these numbers:
- OLB Jake Disterhaupt performed very well. His numbers are safety-like and should lend well to his ability to play in space and make plays off the edge.
- Freshman CB Torrey Hunt had a solid spring and even though he was not able to test in the 40, his 4.00 time in the Pro Test is outstanding. Shows quick change of direction ability.
- FR DE Mason Bennett also tested very well, we were told. He will bring high-end pass rushing ability to the defensive end spot.
- S Cole Reyes (junior) continues to test well. At 6’2-225, he will be getting serious looks by the NFL scouts over the next two years.
- CB Deion Harris (6’3″) tested high in all categories, showing he has the ability to be a difference maker in the Big Sky. With two years of playing time under his belt, it’s time to take the next step.
- ILB Dijon Murray running a 4.64 is extremely encouraging. He is going to be counted on to play major reps this fall.
