The UND Football staff got a dose of bad news recently when they found out ILB Connor O’Brien decided to hang it up due to concussion issues.
O’Brien was a returning starter for DC Eric Schmidt and was the third leading tackler on the team. More important than that, Connor is the team leader on and off the field. He was seen at most every basketball game leading the FB team in cheers/jeers as they supported the MBB & WBB teams.
We are happy for O’Brien in one aspect and that is how he chose his health over football. Concussions are at the forefront now when it comes to player safety and have proven to be a very serious issue. Kudos to Connor for doing what is best for him.
We have been told he will be sticking with the team through his senior season to help out in any way he can. Like a true leader does.
Michael Coe had a pretty good showing at his Pro Day on Wednesday. This was with a tweaked hamstring but Coe still performed all the tests knowing he needed the exposure. The numbers below are quite impressive to go along with the solid footwork he displayed that caught the eye of the scouts, as well.

UND has inked another FBS game. The Fighting Hawks will head out to Logan, UT to take on Utah State in 2021. The Aggies compete in the Mountain West Conference, the same conference as Wyoming, who UND beat in 2015. UND will receive $400,000.
