Coach Bubba Schweigert and staff ended the summer recruiting season with a bang this past weekend.  The Hawks were able to land five more commitments to bring their current commit total to 12.  A comprehensive list of the up-to-date class can be found on our 2019 Recruiting Class page.

Thunder Lake Lodge

On Saturday UND held their final camp of the year – Elite Camp #2.  However, the day before they hosted several big targets for an unofficial visit day combined with a BBQ out at Memorial Stadium.  All of this action led to them being able to secure verbals from many of their top prospects.

We also know that DE Elijah Beach (IL) was in town this weekend and has been offered by UND.  Same for TE William Enneking (WI).  Would not be surprised to hear something from them in the near future.

With this group UND now has 12 commitments, which means they are probably going to be fairly selective from here on out.  The reason we say that is they are limited on roster spots for next year being they took a bigger class this past year.  I would say Schweigert will only look to sign around 20 players total for the 2019 class.

One position that has yet to be addressed is that of quarterback.  We know that several high-end kids have been up to their camps, including Karst Hunter (Miller, SD) and Cedric Case (Lincoln, NE).  Will be interesting to see where those two end up and if UND does indeed offer one of them.

Running back also appears to be a position of need in this class.  The Hawks will be graduating two RB’s after this season in John Santiago and Brady Oliveira.
