The state of Minnesota has naturally been a go-to territory when it comes to recruiting for Bubba Schweigert.  The Class of 2021 is proving no different.

In the last two days Schweigert picked up his third and fourth commitments and created some nice momentum in the process.

On Monday, running back Gaven Ziebarth of Cambridge-Isanti High School announced his commitment to the Hawks.  The 6’0″-200 running back is built like a power back but possesses some high-end speed to complement his physical style.  Ziebarth ran a 10.88 in the 100 last year in track along with a 22.56 in the 200.  He is multi-sport athlete, competing in football, track & field, hockey, and baseball.

On the field, Ziebarth carried the ball 135 times for 937 yards and 10 TD’s last season. Very impressive numbers, especially the 6.94 yard/carry average.

Besides his obvious speed, Ziebarth shows nice patience and vision setting up his blocks.  He has a natural running back feel to him and even though it may be tempting to want to see him at linebacker, we feel he will be a running back at UND.

Ziebarth is the #1 ranked RB in Minnesota by 247 Sports and the #15 overall ranked recruit in the 2021 class.

On Tuesday, the Hawks received a commitment from TE Jaden Norby of West Central Area High School.  The 6’4″-235 athlete plays quarterback on offense for the Knights and linebacker on defense.  His size and overall athleticism lend well to him being a tight end in Danny Freund’s spread offense.  We could actually see Norby slimming down a bit or staying in that 230 range to be a flex-type TE that is all the rage now.

From his QB position, Norby rushed 112 times for 574 yards and 15 TD’s on offense.  As you can imagine, he ran a lot of QB power stuff to use his imposing size against the opposing defenses.  Like Ziebarth, Norby is also a multi-sport athlete, competing in football, basketball and baseball.

Norby is the #2 ranked RB in Minnesota by 247 Sports and the #25 overall ranked recruit in the 2021 class.

The Hawks now have four total commitments to the Class of 2021.  All four are on the offensive side of the ball.  You can see the list of commitment and offerees at 2021 Recruiting Class page.
