A name that long-time UND football fans are familiar with has pledged his commitment to the program.

Rumors

Luke Lennon, nephew of legendary UND football coach Dale Lennon, recently visited the UND campus and it was on that unofficial visit that he gave Bubba Schweigert his verbal commitment to be a part of the Fighting Hawks program.

The 6’5″-210 defensive lineman from West Fargo High School is considered by some to be the best 2019 college prospect in the state of North Dakota.  Lennon has a long wing span and above average athleticism.  Being only 210 pounds, Lennon has a lot of frame left to easily get up in the 240-250 pound range.  The Packers used Lennon as an OLB on defense and he typically played in space, showing off his agility and ability to defend the pass also.

DC Eric Schmidt is projecting Lennon to be a defensive end in their 3-4 scheme – at least initially.  He has the tools to easily swap over to the other side of the ball and play tight end, as well.  Fellow North Dakota commit Tanner Thorsness (6’4″-230) of Bismarck Century also falls under this same scenario.

Lennon is a multi-sport standout for the Packers competing in basketball (second team all-state) and track to go along with football.

Lennon is the 7th commitment to the Class of 2019.
