The Big Sky Conference held their annual media day event this past Sunday/Monday. Along with the media days activities come the Preseason Polls and All-Conference Teams.
UND is not an official member of the Big Sky once again this season, thus they were not included in the polls and their players were not included in the all-conference selections.
However, UND does play a full 8-game Big Sky schedule which means the polls are actually still quite interesting to us.
Eastern Washington is the overwhelming favorite to win the Big Sky this season. They return electric QB Eric Barriere along with 8 other starters from last year’s national runner-up squad.
UND takes on the Eagles out in Cheney on Sept. 28th. Note: the Hawks have never beaten EWU.
When looking at the Coaches Poll, UND takes on 1-2-3-5-7-9-12-13. In the Media Poll, UND plays 1-2-3-4-7-9-11-13. Truly a mix of the very top and the very bottom of the Big Sky.
The Hawks Big Sky home-opener will take place on October 5th vs. UC-Davis, who was predicted to finish #2 in both polls and is Top 10 in all national polls. That game also doubles as homecoming week. The Alerus Center will be the place to be that weekend.
