At UND Football 360, we have always been high on recruiting athletes out of our neighbor to the north. UND has a long history of turning out excellent student-athletes that hail from Canada and the last few years have shown that Bubba Schweigert want to add to that legacy.
The latest Canadian to commit to UND is wide receiver Nathan Demontagnac. The 6’3″-180 athlete plays his prep ball for powerhouse program Football North, which is located just south of Toronto. Football North spits out multiple D1 prospects per year and plays against American teams that are typically some of the best in the country. The talent that North plays against is top notch and it gets their roster high-end experience vs other D1 athletes.
Current Fighting Hawks Quincy Vaughn and Kyle Hergel also came from Football North. Hergel is a mainstay on the offensive line, while Vaughn joined the team at semester break last season as a true freshman and has drawn rave reviews thus far. It appears the Hawks have a bit of a pipeline going with the staff up at Football North.

Demontagnac possesses some high-end speed for his size and has a nice burst off the line. Demontagnac is a classic tweener type of wide receiver. He has speed to get by you but is also tall enough to out-size you with his body. He will definitely need to put on weight and add strength but the frame is there to be the big, physical type WR that UND has been recruiting lately. He also plays safety for Football North, which is pretty impressive for a team that talented.
Demontagnac is the first true wide receiver in this class (we envision Tanner Koziol being a hybrid WR/TE type). UND now has 8 commitments to the Class of 2021 and we honestly wouldn’t be surprised if there was at least one more this week. Things seem to be picking up across the country when it comes to players committing now that seasons are ready to get underway.
Below is a video of a hail mary that Demontagnac caught on the last play of the game to beat St. Ignatius last season. The QB that threw the pass? Quincy Vaughn.
