The final Elite Camp of the summer produced again on Sunday with the commitment of Illinois linebacker Quinn Urwiler.
Urwiler, 6’0″-180, is a native of Batavia, Illinois, playing outside linebacker &running back/wildcat for the powerhouse Batavia Bulldogs football team. The Bulldogs were the 2017 7A state champions and lost in the semi-finals last season.
We project Urwiler to play inside linebacker for UND, however. Even though he is a bit undersized now, he is an explosive player that brings some twitch to the position. Urwiler shows good speed and suddenness in his tackling. Can’t help but think of former UND linebackers Dan Hendrickson and Will Ratelle when watching & envisioning what Urwiler may play like for the Hawks.
Last season Urwiler compiled 46 tackles and 6 sacks to go along with 15 touchdowns on offense. Urwiler also plays baseball for Batavia.
Urwiler is third linebacker in this class, joining local product Jack Ihry (FSHP) and Dylan Boecker of Menomonie, WI. We see UND still looking to add at least one more linebacker to the 2020 class.
After a great visit I’m happy to say I’ll be continuing my academic and football career at the University of North Dakota. #FlagshipU #FightingHwaks @BubbaSchweigert @CoachHolinka @UndCoachSchmidt @EDGYTIM @DeepDishFB pic.twitter.com/p4Ool1ZTTq
