The Hawks don’t typically venture too far south when it comes to recruiting – especially in June/July.

However, when a playmaker like Jack Wright pops up on your radar you make an exception.

Wright, a 5’11-175 wide receiver dynamo out of Regent Prep School in Tulsa, OK, committed to Coach Bubba Schweigert on Tuesday after attending several camps this summer and impressing the staff enough to earn a scholarship.

Wright amassed an impressive 81 receptions for 1,843 yards & 34 TD’s during his junior season for the Rams.  He also added 6 interceptions on defense. His season high was 17 receptions for 351 yards & 7 TD’s.

Regent Prep plays 8-man football in Tulsa so it was kind of fun to watch Wright turn it loose in an A-typical game format.  Wright shows great speed and quickness but never seems out of control. Plays within himself and lets his vision and instincts do the work for him, enabling him to break many long TD’s receptions.

UND has been looking to add more mid-size WR’s to go along with their taller wideouts, as they added Chrysten Cochran last year and now Wright for the 2020 class.

Wright is the first wide receiver to join the UND Class of 2020.
