Davis, 5’10”-165, is a former teammate of incoming Hawks freshman OL Jagger Ferden. This is the second defensive commitment to the class but we would expect a few more in the near future.
Davis is pegged as a safety in college but as you can tell by the video he is a dangerous receiver & return man – a legit jack-of-all-trades type of football player. In a game vs. Harvard High School last season, Davis scored a rushing TD, receiving TD, and had two punt return TD’s. That’s a full night by any standards and also shows his extreme versatility, not to mention how confident the Indians coaching staff is in using him anywhere on the field. The Indians finished the 2019 season with an 8-3 record, losing in the second round of the 4A playoffs.
We could easily see Davis switching sides of the ball upon need down the road. He is a natural slot receiver and the type of player that UND doesn’t have a lot of right now. Davis had 8 receiving TD’s last season on offense and 3 INT’s on defense.
Besides being a standout on the gridiron, Davis also competes in basketball and track for the Indians. Another multi-sport athlete.
Here is our favorite clip from his Hudl highlight reel – don’t think I have ever seen that one before:
