Early this season, it was expected that Bismarck, ND native Jake Miller would get some playing time early and not redshirt this fall.  Miller made the first two roadtrips to Moscow and Dekalb but did not play.

Barring an emergency, Miller is now expected to redshirt this year.  Evidently the coaches didn’t believe he would get enough playing time to warrant pulling the redshirt.  This is a good thing.  Now Miller can concentrate on academics and get ready in the weight room with the rest of his freshman class.

Running back Ethan Magstadt will return to practice this week to give some more depth.  Wide receivers Jarrel Davis and Jon Heimler are on the mend and could also both be back by next week as well.  It will be good to have the depth back at both positions.  Davis will be a big lift for leadership and confidence on the field.

The Sioux are in relatively and surprisingly good health right now.

Look for “Miller Time” in 2011.
