With classes beginning tomorrow at UND it means that Coach Schweigert can expand his roster past the 95-man limit that is imposed for fall camp.
The additions at the beginning of school are typically called “school start walk-ons”. These players are actually vital to the program in that they usually play on the scout team and provide the necessary depth to give the starting offense and defense a good simulated look at the opponet during game week.
The additions that we have compiled thus far:
- Eric Prater – QB – very interesting deal here. Joined the Army Ranger’s out of high school (AZ) and then four years later signed with Hawaii (2014). Prater then transferred to Montana where he didn’t play last year. Now he has transferred to UND and will sit out this year due to transfer rules. Prater will be a junior next fall.
- Christian Comstock – LB – from Hermantown, MN
- Zak Hernandez – WR – was with the team in the spring.
- Jacob Meeks – Punter – was with the team in the spring.
- Derek Paulson – TE – from Lodi, WI.
- Corby Richman – LB – was with the team in the spring. (Maple Valley HS in ND)
- Colton Hessenflow – DL – from San Diego, CA (Scripps Ranch HS)
