Even though the 2016 season is in full swing, Coach Bubba Schweigert and his staff are still in recruiting mode (aren’t they always, though?).   After hosting a large group of unofficial visitors and two official visitors on the weekend of the South Dakota game, UND was able to secure two more commitments.

Rumors

UND now has nine commitments to the Class of 2017.

DE Quintin Seguin (6’3″-235) of Windsor, Ontario took an official visit to UND on September 17th.  He was able to take in the 20 point comeback victory over the Yotes and a week later gave his verbal to Coach Schweigert.

Seguin fits in with the typical player that UND has at defensive end.  In the 6’2-6’3 range, around 235-250, and has lateral quickness that allows him to twist/stunt to get into the backfield.  He uses his hands well for separation.

NG Jalen Morrison, at 6’2″-240, is a big, powerful fullback/nose guard for the Woodbury Royals.  Morrison is slated to be a nose guard in UND’s 3-4 defensive scheme.

Being he plays running back in high school a natural comparison came to us when we saw he committed:  former UND nose guard extraordinaire Mark Callahan.  At Grand Forks Central, Callahan was also an oversized running back in HS and then switched to nose guard at UND, becoming an All-American in the process.

Morrison shows very good getoff from his defensive line position and has great feet.  The highlights below are his junior year and all offense.
