• During the bye week UND has still  stayed busy.  The team practiced Tuesday and  Wednesday, presumably preparing for Cal Poly and their triple option offense.  As we remember, the Sioux held the Mustangs to 62 total rushing yards last year in the 31-17 victory.  Of course that game was at home and this Cal Poly team is much improved.  They are sitting at 4-2 on the year with a huge Great West tilt on deck this Saturday at Southern Utah, who just beat UND 31-21.
  • The Sioux coaches are heading out recruiting for the rest of the week, starting Thursday.  They are heading out to North Dakota, South Dakota, Minnesota, Iowa, Colorado and Wisconsin.
  • DL Ross Brenneman is expected to miss 2-3 weeks.  Dan Hendrickson will be ready to go for the Cal Poly game.  DL Seth Stanchik is out for the year with a broken lower leg.
  • LB Paul German’s career appears to be over as a Fighting Sioux after suffering a knee injury in last weeks game.  Paul had a nice career for the Sioux and we are sad to see it end this way.
  • Northern Illinois is sitting at 4-2 on the year and is in the drivers seat for the MAC West title.
  • Idaho is 3-2 on the year with their first WAC game coming  up this weekend at La. Tech.
