The UND football program has received a verbal commitment from safety Cole Reyes of Schaumberg, IL.  Reyes, 6’2″-205, was an all-conference and all-northwest area performer for the Saxons this past season.  In 2012, he had 3 interceptions as a safety and on the offensive side of the ball he had 11 catches for 299 yards and 7 TD’s playing WR.  Not a bad average/catch.  Schaumburg, led by coach Mark Stilling, finished the 2012 campaign 8-3 in class 8A and lost to fellow UND commit Cam Kuksa and Palatine 42-14 in the playoffs.

Reyes is a ball-hawking safety with good size and instincts.  He appears to read the play well from the snap and has innate abilities and a very good football IQ.  Reyes also returned kicks for the Saxons.  With the addition of Reyes and Kuksa, UND has turned a position of weakness (safety) into a strength.  Reyes is a very good get for UND and is yet another sign that the transition is well behind them now.

Reyes had offers from Northern Iowa, South Dakota and Western Illinois along with interest from South Dakota State and Southern Illinois.
