Got a late start this week, we were tied up with other stuff all week but definitely are excited for this weekends 4pm Homecoming game with Southern Utah.

To us this game simply comes down to whether the UND defense can stop #19 Tysson Poots and #9 Fesi Sitake, SUU’s remarkable receiver duo.  They have 66 catches on the year between the two of them and 5 TD’s.  Sitake is the quick slot receiver and Poots is the big physical red zone threat.  He was also a preseason FCS All American.  If the Sioux defensive backs can get after these two with some help from pressure blitzes the Sioux have a great chance at winning this one.

#29 Akeem Anifowoshe is the leader of the aggressive SUU defense.  He plays a monster back type of LB in their defensive scheme and is very hard to game plan for because of his versatility.  We do remember them using a different scheme than the Sioux normally see so it will be interesting to see how the Sioux attack it.

There will be 15-20 recruits again on campus for game visits.  We do not have any names as of now but will be snooping around during the game to see who was there.

The Indoor Practice Facility seems to be real close to being announced.  From what we heard they just need to cross a couple T’s and the deal will be done for Phase 1.  We were hoping to hear about it today at the “Ignite The Spirit” Announcement, but that didn’t happen.

If there was ever a must-win game for a transitional no-playoffs team, this is it.  A win gets the Sioux to 3-3 heading into the bye week and set the tone for the 2nd half of the year.  A loss puts them to 0-2 in the Great West and 2-4 on they year.  With extremely tough road games coming up a winning record could be out of the question.  We fully expect the Sioux to defend their home turf like they have shown they are able to do since the Alerus Center opened.  They are 2-0 at home this year but SUU is a much better team than the previous two teams they have faced.
