This coming weekend is going to be a wild one on the UND campus. This year UND decided to combine the Hall of Fame induction with Homecoming. Along with all of those festivities there are a bunch of sporting events happening:
- Women’s Hockey – Friday
- Women’s Soccer – Friday
- Women’s and Men’s Swimming and Diving – Friday
- Women’s and Men’s Cross Country – Saturday
- Women’s Volleyball – Saturday
- Football – Saturday
- Women’s Hockey – Saturday
- Men’s Hockey – Saturday
That is full weekend. Should be a great atmosphere on campus.
The Football Inductee into the UND Hall of Fame for 2016 is OL Paul Robson. Here is Robson’s bio via undsports.com:
Paul Robson | Football | 1960-63: Lettered as an offensive lineman and linebacker in 1960, 1962 and 1963 for legendary coach Marv “Whitey” Helling … Went on to enjoy a 9-year professional career in the Canadian Football League … Later served as general manager of the Winnipeg Blue Bombers and Ottawa Rough Riders … Amassed a record of 44-21-1 as GM of the Blue Bombers and won a Grey Cup championship in 1984 … Inducted into the Winnipeg Blue Bombers Hall of Fame in 1991 … Former Chair of the CFL’s Board of Governors … Sons Craig, Kevin, and Scott also lettered in football at UND.
As you can see, Robson was an outstanding football player, playing both ways during his time at UND. He has already been inducted into the Winnipeg Blue Bombers Hall of Fame. His son’s were also former UND football players as well, with Kevin being All-Conference & All-American (1993).
