Idaho QB Nate Enderle continues to grab the attention of the national football media.  ESPN Draft Guru Todd McShay has him down as his #9 QB for the 2011 draft class.  If you are an ESPN insider, you can view the entire article on this link here.

Rumors

If you are not an ESPN insider, here is what McShay had to say about Enderle:

9. Nathan Enderle, Idaho (6-4, 232) | Grade: 56
Enderle has prototypical size and also displays strong leadership skills and awareness in the pocket. However, his accuracy is only adequate and he needs to make better decisions as a senior in order to improve his mid- to late-round draft status.

ESPN’s Pat Forde also has a list of 10 QB’s who get it done.  Enderle was #3 on his list of “winners”:

3. Nathan Enderle, Idaho (6-4, 232 pounds) How’s this for a growth curve: 10 touchdowns and 18 interceptions as a freshman; 20 touchdowns and 17 interceptions as a sophomore; 22 TDs and nine picks as a junior — which, not coincidentally, was Idaho’s breakout season, going 8-5.

At this point, it would seem that Enderle is destined to be drafted in the late rounds in next year’s NFL Draft.  His success or lack thereof will obviously dictate where he ends up in April.  We are anxious to see how this year’s UND defense and secondary will hold up against such a talented QB in the first game of the season.  As we all remember last year, UND gave up 405 yds passing to QB Taylor Potts and the Texas Tech offense in game number one.  However, safety Joel Schwenzfeier had a big day and tied a UND record with 3 interceptions that thwarted some drives.  Idaho brings a much more conventional, balanced attack when compared to Texas Tech’s spread offense and will be under center much more.  Hopefully that bodes well for UND.
