UND has received a commitment from LB Kyle Norberg of Cary-Grove High School in Cary Grove, IL. Norberg, 6’1″-215, was a standout LB and FB for the Trojans, who went 13-1 and lost 33-26 in the state championship game to Crete-Monee. Cary-Grove is coached by Brad Seaburg.
Norberg finished the 2012 season with 2,218 yds and 27 TD’s from his fullback position, a position he just moved to for his senior season. He was All-Conference, All-Area, and All-State first team at the 6A level. Even though he got most of his accolades as a FB for the Trojans, he is slated to play inside linebacker for UND. He shows excellent speed and footwork for a linebacker. Norberg has ran consistent 4.6 forty yard dash times at various camps to prove it. He will add a speed dimension that the UND inside linebacker position has not had in recent years.
Norberg had a preferred walk-on offer from Iowa and a scholarship offer from South Dakota.
