A few items we have come across in the past few weeks:
1. The Sioux coaching staff just recently made their spring scholarship offers to next years Seniors. They made roughly 35-40 offers. Obviously not all of them are full rides. As has been stated on other blogs, the Sioux have made offers to some high-end players who will eventually end up in FBS programs but they need to try.
2. The Josh Murray situation appears to be looking pretty good. After receiving his grades for the spring semester, he came out unscathed and will take classes in the summer to ensure his spot on the roster this fall. Josh has done everything he needed to do to redeem himself in the coaches eyes, and most importantly, his teammates eyes. We look forward to a Murray/Sutton dual threat backfield as a changeup this fall.
3. Ismael Bamba’s days as a Fighting Sioux are officially over. He did not get the required grades to be eligible for fall camp.
4. Vernell Price was on campus Monday taking an official visit. The 6’1" 290lb NG has also taken official visits and has offers from South Dakota and NDSU. He would add much needed depth at the DL position. His decision should be made in the next week or so and we’ll keep you updated on him. It’s amazing how 3 schools from the Dakotas can all be on the same noseguard from San Diego. Gotta love today’s recruiting world and the Internet.
