UND Football Fans,
Game week has arrived. Ever since the NDSU game was announced last year, there has been constant banter and media attention all pointing to this week.
For decades, this particular week was circled on both teams’ calendars as “the” week. The other games took on their own importance but this game took on everything. It was a full week of great anticipation and chatter amongst friends and foes.
The reason we are writing this is to make sure this week is remembered by all as a ‘great time’. The two teams, UND and NDSU, have finally gotten back together to restore one of the greatest rivalries in college football history. Who did what to whom in the past is over; the leaders and administrations of the past, gone.
Bubba Schweigert thought so much of the rivalry he agreed to play both in Fargo. UND football fans, you too should give the same amount of respect this week and on Saturday, wherever you are taking it in.
UND fans:
- Have FUN with this game. Make fun of your NDSU
buddiesenemies, be made fun of. - Right now, UND is not as good as NDSU. We have been in the past and we will be in the future and it’s getting better, but it’s not there yet.
- If you go to tailgating at the Fargodome, have fun. They are on top, we are not. You are going to get crap from them, give a little back and have fun with it.
- The state of North Dakota has been waiting for this game for 11 years now. It was the highlight of every schedule for 70+ years for those that don’t remember.
- Let’s all have great memories of this week and this historic football game. It is time for the childish venom to die away and get back to simple, respectful hatred. 🙂
