The Sioux Football team had 6 players named to the Great West Conference First and Second teams when they were announced today. Very well deserved for all of those players, namely Seniors Ryan Kasowski (two-time first team), Ty Boyle, and Joel Schwenzfeier. Those three had great seasons for the Sioux and provided excellent leadership during this tough 3-8 season. Â
This will be the first of many All-Conference honors for WR Greg Hardin. The freshman out of Bellevue, Nebraska ended the season with 736 yards and 10 TD’s but those numbers would have been much higher if Jake Landry would not have gotten injured.
Dan Hendrickson had a breakout year at MLB for the Sioux and was a demon on the Kickoff team. His speed at the LB position was something the Sioux were sorely missing the last few years. We look for him to take an ever bigger step forward for the Sioux next season.
Josh Murray came back with a vengeance this season after having to sit out last year because of academic reasons. He was equally dangerous when carrying the ball (670 yards), receiving the ball (32 catches), and returning punts (11 yd avg and 1 TD). Murray, Mitch Sutton, and Jake Miller will all be back next year.
