To steal a name from The Longest Yard, UND has a “Mean Machine” coming to town in the form of the Cal Poly Mustang triple-option offense.  To say their offense is rolling would be a massive understatement.

Thunder Lake Lodge

Here are their 2016 offensive numbers:

  • 36 points per game
  • 362 yards rushing per game (#1 in country)
  • 128 yards passing per game
  • 29/56 on third down (56%)
  • 7/10 on fourth down (70%)
  • Red-Zone TD’s – 9/12

Highlights

UND had success stopping this offense last season.  But this is a different Poly team and a different time of the year.  The chess match between UND DC Eric Schmidt and Poly OC Juston Wood will be fun to watch.  Adjustments will be made frequently by both sides in this game.
