The Sioux have signed RB Romon Bridges from Edison High School in Stockton, CA. Bridges was recruited by the Sioux during the winter recruiting season but did not choose the Sioux. He apparently had committed to Cal-Poly but never signed for reasons unknown. Late in the spring he became available again and the Sioux got him. Bridges is a two star recruit who had legitimate offers from South Dakota, Montana State, and Cal Poly during the winter recruiting season.Â
This signing may have been due to the recent shoulder injury suffered by Breon Butler. We have heard Butler will not be ready for fall camp.Â
Bridges brings excellent athleticism and pretty good speed with him to Grand Forks. He posted a time of 47.95 in the 400 meters this past spring. He will join RB’s Jer Garman and PJ Sparks to form a pretty impressive 2011 RB class.Â
