• The Sioux are going to have around 45-50 players staying in town for summer workouts.  That is consistent with past numbers, which is a good sign.  Summer lifting/running is the most important time of the year and is crucial to a player and team’s development.
  • The offensive staff is heading down to meet with the staff of the Alabama Crimson Tide.  Alabama has been running the Pistol for a couple years now so we see that as the reason why - besides the fact they have arguably the best staff/program in the country.
  • Now is the time for FBS transfers but if history tells us anything there probably won’t be any.  The Sioux did get OLB Johnnie Daniels last season from Central Michigan but other than that there have not been any in recent memory.  FBS transfers tend to move closer to home once it does not work out at their original choice, which makes it tough for a school like UND to get one.  Add in the fact that there is one year of transition left and it makes things not so attractive.
  • We are still waiting on the announcement of the signing of DL Milhomme Jean-Charles from Wahpeton-Science.  First thoughts are that it must be transcript/transfer issues that need to be cleared before he can officially sign.  We will stay on it but fully expect him to sign with the Sioux.
  • The UND summer football camps are coming up in the month of June and should showcase multiple prospects for the coaching staff:
June 15 – Single-Day Individual Skills Camp (Grades 9-12)
June 20 – 7-on-7 Passing Camp (Grades 9-12)
June 21-23 – Individual Camp (Grades 9-12)

  • We have heard rumors of possible late addition(s) to the recruiting class of 2011.  It could be unsigned players  or possible defections from another schools 2011 recruiting class for one reason or another.  Not sure but we will stay on it.
