Bubba Schweigert and staff will be holding their first of two Elite Camps tomorrow. This is a one-day camp that will be comprised of many of their top targets in the Class of 2017.
The camp will get started around 1pm.
According to the staff, 19 of 23 members of the 2016 recruiting class attended their Elite Camps. What does this tell you? That when the UND staff is trying to decide on who to offer a scholarship to, they go with the one they saw in person.
A heavy emphasis is put on seeing a kid compete in person against the best around. The staff can see how fast he really is, how quick he is, his twitch, and conversate with him face to face, which gives them an idea of the athlete’s personality/mentality.
We have been told there will be 200+ players at this first Elite Camp.
(The second Elite Camp is set to be held July 23rd)
