UND gained another offensive line commitment over the weekend when Sean Russo of ThunderRidge High School in Highlands Ranch, CO gave them word he is coming to Grand Forks.
Russo, 6’6″-270, could be either a tackle or guard in college. He has a big frame and plays very aggressively. Does a nice job finishing blocks. Russo will need to work on his flexibility in college if he ends up out at tackle. We feel his best fit is at guard, but he may be required to develop on the outside if the depth chart calls for it.
That makes six offensive lineman in the Class of 2016. We’d imagine they might be done there now.
Of note: UND also lost a player this weekend when DB Jeremy Chinn decommitted and ended up giving his pledge to Southern Illinois. We fully expect UND to immediately go after another defensive back to replace Chinn. This is one position group where they cannot afford to be shorthanded.
