Name: CLIVE GEORGES
School: Key West High School, FL. Transfer from University of Arizona.
Vitals: Wide Receiver (#81) 6’1″ – 170 lbs
Clive Georges transferred to UND at semester break from the University of Arizona, where he spent the past two years. Georges redshirted in 2012 and played sparingly in 2013. This past fall he did not play at all, eventually leaving the team in October. We believe Georges will be a junior for the 2015 season.
It is quite obvious from his senior tape that Clive Georges is a home-run threat every time he touches the ball. He is the “speedster” that most teams have on their roster. At Key West HS they knew how to get him the ball to utilize his track speed and that was to get him the ball quick in space and let him accelerate without being impeded. They used jet sweeps, reverses, etc. to try and get him started with the ball in his hands. He was also their special teams returner and we would assume he will get a shot at that with UND.
He is a bit of a strider vs. a quick, get up and go guy. Reason for that is Georges was the Florida Class 2A 400 meter state champion his senior season, running a 47.35. He placed 2nd in the 100, running a 10.76.
Georges will need to put on some size to be effective in all area of the receiver game, especially blocking. He has a slight build at around 170 pounds. But, if used right he can be the big-play threat that UND has seen in the past like Mr. Electricity, Weston Dressler.
