Name:  ADAM STINER

School:  Verona High School – Verona, WI (Dave Richardson)

Vitals:  Offensive Tackle(#59).  6’5″ – 270 lbs

Offers:  SDSU, Western Illinois

Adam Stiner is an athletic offensive lineman who has great feet and is able to get out on to the perimeter and downfield when asked to.  He also shows great drive after contact and finishes his blocks well.  At 6-5 and 270 pounds, the 2013 WFCA All-Region player has a great looking frame that no doubt can take on 30 more pounds.  He has experience playing both guard and tackle, but played tackle his senior year.  We feel he could play either spot in college but probably is better suited to play guard.  This versatility will definitely be an asset for him in college in terms of getting on the field and for adding depth to the UND offensive line.  Offensive line coaches love ‘swing guys’.

Stiner’s ability to move around so well is no doubt aided by the fact that he plays basketball and is very successful in the field events throwing the shot and discus.  He will need to work on engaging and sustaining blocks better by using his hands more effectively.  He’s also a little high in his stance, which sometimes may or may not be an indicator of some stiffness.  These things will come with time and O-line Coach Luke Knauf will no doubt coach him up and develop him in these areas.

Stiner was the first OL to commit to Coach Schweigert for the 2014 class.  There are now 3 OL total so far.
