Name:  JONATHAN HARRIS

School: Morgan Park High School – Morgan Park, IL (Coach Wesley Yates)

Vitals:  NG (#52).  6’2″ – 270.

Offers:  D2 Offers.

We project Harris as a nose guard in UND’s 3-4 scheme.  Harris is a well-built, stout kid who has the perfect body type to play NG.  He has very quick feet and shows a great burst off the ball, to go along with impressive strength.  Harris is a high-motor type of player who is probably 1-2 inches too short for the big boys, which is why UND was able to get him.  He reminds us of current UND NG, Marcus Cheatom, who is also from Chicago.

Rumors

Harris will most likely redshirt but there is an outside chance he plays as a freshman based on the fact that the UND defensive line is thin heading into next fall.  If that is to happen he will need to learn the defense in a hurry which is never an easy task for a true freshman.

Harris was an Chicago All-Public League First-Team selection for the Mustangs.  He had seven tackles for loss and 2.5 sacks along with 35 pancake blocks as an offensive tackle.
